Bio

Maggie is an actress, singer, multi-instrumentalist, writer, dog person and a lover of big trees. She currently lives at the top of a hill in the north of the Bronx with her Beagle/Jack Russell mix and a living room full of plants. Contrary to what you’re about to read, she rarely talks about herself in the third person.

Maggie fell in love with the stage while sitting in the pit, playing piano for the fall musical her freshman year in high school; by the next semester she was in the chorus for the spring musical and thoroughly hooked. Four years at a performing arts magnet high school gave her loads of chances to perform, and start to find her leadership skills as a director and music director as well.

Maggie’s early training in piano (she started lessons at three and a half years old) led to a lifelong love of music and a leg up in the exploding genre of musical theatre known as Actor/Musician theatre. In her early 20’s she was cast in one of the first actor/musician shows in existence, Honky-Tonk Highway, which challenged her to make a pretty enough noise on ten musical instruments, and started her love affair with the guitar. In 2014 Maggie was handed an accordion to create a 30-second entr’acte for a production of Twelfth Night at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and five months later got the chance to become proficient on the beloved instrument when she was cast as a standby on the 1st national tour of Once. Over the last several years she’s become a regular cast member in productions of the award-winning Woody Sez, honing her skills on the upright bass. Today she keeps up on a number of instruments including her newest love affair, the mandolin.

Also a recording artist, Maggie and her recording partner, composer Graham Sobelman, have released four albums’ worth of Jane Kenyon Sessions, a collection of nearly fifty contemporary art songs Sobelman composed specifically for Maggie, featuring the words of American poet Jane Kenyon. Maggie and Graham are currently developing a live performance project based on these compositions, called Songs from Eagle Pond

Maggie is also an original member of the band Americana Women, which plays dates all over North America.

She also released her first full-length solo album, Stripped Down, in 2015. All of her music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major music outlets.
